The following procedure will set the default universal permissions for all projects at once, including the Default project.
Later, when more new projects are created, they will copy the Default project's group permissions (but not the upper right corner's Locked to the project... setting).
- Log onto DataSelf Web Server as an Administrator.
- Use the Thumbnail or List selection icon in the upper right corner, if necessary, to change to List mode.
- Use the pulldown list to Select All projects.
- Actions > Permissions
- Modify the Permissions for workbooks and data sources are setting (upper right corner) by clicking on the text. In the window that pops open, select Locked to the project…. and Save.
- Change the All Users group to None, None, None.
To change the All Users permissions:
A. Click the Elipsis and select Edit.
B. From each of the three down-arrows, select None.
C. Click Delete to save the changes.
- Add the DSA-Viewers Group:
A. Be sure the +Add a user or group rule option box is set to Group.
B. Click in the Enter a group name box, scroll down, and select DSA-Viewers. It will open in edit mode.
- Change the DSA-Viewers to None and Web Edit Denied:
A. Click the double-arrow after Workbooks to open the section.
B. Click twice to Deny (
) Web Edit.
C. Click Save.
- Click the upper right corner X to exit the screen.
