White Belt Training: The Viewer’s Experience

The DataSelf Analytics White Belt class has two parts.

Introduction to the Tableau site; navigation and features.
Introduction to the features viewers have available in Tableau workbooks.We will use some of the DataSelf provided “Out of the Box” workbooks to help familiarize the viewer with what is already available

Target Audience: USERs wanting to learn how to deploy, perform report design with web and desktop designer, maintain DataSelf ETL+ and MS SQL Server data warehousing.

Classes Format: Instructor-led and web-based; might include attendees from other organizations; include hands-on exercises, and leverage a sample database that is similar to your production DataSelf system. Maximum of 8 people per class.

Orange Belt: Web Report Design

Orange Belt Certification: Attendees completing parts 1 through 4 and passing the certification exam will be granted the DataSelf Orange Belt Certification.

1: Introduction to Tableau Web Report Designer. Creating and editing basic workbook views with dashboards.
2: Date filter options, drill down options. Formatting options.
3: Calculated fields for dimensions, measures, filters.
4: Multi data source reporting. Dashboard design.

Target Audience: End users and consultants wanting to learn web report design and ad hoc querying.

Purple Belt: Intermediate Tableau Web Design

The two and a half hour session is the next step after Orange Belt in working with the Tableau Web App.

Best practice suggestions when designing workbooks to make them practical for viewers to use.
A deeper dive in workbook design with Date calculations, Sets, Table Calculations, LODs, and Data Blending.
Introducing other Tableau features like Alerts, Explain Data, Metrics
